One important thing to note while installing these is, definitely go by the drill tap size which is recommended for a key insert. In other words, if you have half-inch 13 threads you’re putting into your part to accept the key locking insert, you’ll give you bigger drills tap drill size than you would normally use.

You’ll notice that threads are going in very smoothly, just due to the use of the right drill tap size. Once your key locking insert is installed into your part, test it with bolt just to make sure that inner threads and key locking insert are a quality reliable from the manufacturer’s end

Next, take a driver tool. One basic thing you should know is, take a driver tool like a steel rule or scale or just a visual check over the top of the surface, and make sure the key locking insert is well below the surface.

The worst thing you can do is, put key locking insert in, and a little bit sticking up, then when you try mounting anything to your part, it won’t sit flat, rather straight to the surface of your part.
